Public Hearing on the draft RTS for establishing a central AML/CFT database

On draft Regulatory Technical Standards under Article 11(6) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1620.

  • Public debates

This public hearing is held in connection with AMLA's public consultation on draft Regulatory Technical Standards for establishing a central anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) database, developed under the EU's anti-money laundering framework.

The draft RTS set out the rules for a central AML/CFT database that will support the exchange of supervisory information across the Union and help make AML/CFT supervision more targeted, risk-based and effective. The database will act as a single entry point for standardised reporting and as a repository of supervisory information at both entity and system level, supporting the detection and analysis of risks and trends, effective oversight of the supervisory system, and targeted supervision at entity level. Supervisory authorities will be able to access the data on a confidential, need-to-know basis.

The public hearing offers stakeholders the opportunity to engage directly with AMLA on the proposed standards, ahead of finalisation.
