Hennie Verbeek-Kusters appointed as AMLA Executive Board Member

The Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) welcomes the decision of the Council of the European Union to appoint Ms Hennie Verbeek-Kusters as the fifth Executive Board Member of AMLA.

The Council decision of 23 February 2026 brings the AMLA Executive Board to its full, five-member composition.

Ms Verbeek‑Kusters joins AMLA with deep and long-standing expertise in financial intelligence. She has led the FIU- the Netherlands since 2008 and has twice served as Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, contributing significantly to international cooperation in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.

“I warmly welcome Ms Verbeek‑Kusters as a member of the Executive Board,” said AMLA Chair Bruna Szego. “Her experience and commitment to strengthening financial integrity will be essential as we continue building a robust and coherent AML/CFT framework across Europe. I look forward to working closely with her and with all Board Members to advance AMLA’s mission.”
