Target audience
AMLA’s open public consultations are open to all stakeholders with an interest in the EU’s anti‑money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) framework. We particularly welcome contributions from Financial Intelligence Units, public authorities, obliged entities, supervisory authorities, self-regulatory bodies, international institutions and organisations, civil society organisations, consumer representatives, academia, and investigative journalists.
The rules place no direct obligations on private companies, but practitioners with relevant experience are welcome to respond.
Why we are consulting
Public input on this draft RTS is essential to ensure that the proposed criteria are practical, effective, and proportionate in practice.
The draft RTS establishes clear and harmonised criteria for identifying when a report of suspicions concerns another Member State, and for transmitting it accordingly between Financial Intelligence Units. It aims to make cross-border information exchange more consistent, efficient, and reliable, strengthening cooperation between FIUs and supporting smoother integration into existing systems such as FIU.net.
Data protection
AMLA ensures the protection of personal data while consulting citizens and stakeholders online. Further information can be found in the Record of Processing Activity and the Privacy Statement for this consultation.
