Public Hearing on the draft Guidelines on business-wide risk assessment

Public hearing on draft Guidelines under Article 10(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1624

  • Public debates

This public hearing is held in connection with AMLA's public consultation on draft Guidelines on business-wide risk assessment, developed under the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2024/1624).

The draft Guidelines under Article 10(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 propose four minimum requirements for the conduct of an adequate business-wide risk assessment (BWRA), applicable across all types of obliged entities. The BWRA is a central element of the risk-based approach from an obliged entity's perspective, enabling entities to understand the risks arising from their business model, customers, products, services and transactions, delivery channels and geographical exposure. The draft Guidelines stress obliged entities' responsibility to take ownership of their BWRA and ensure that it is proportionate to their individual specificities, risks and complexity.

The public hearing offers stakeholders the opportunity to engage directly with AMLA on the proposed guidelines, with particular focus on ensuring that the requirements are effective and can be applied by all obliged entities in practice.

This public hearing session is open to registered participants only. Each registered participant will receive an individual access code and instructions by email upon registration. Please note that places are limited — we encourage early registration.
